Wherever you travel, Christmas is always a special time of year. But there are certain places around the globe that take festive celebrations to a whole new level. This month we have hitched a lift aboard Santa’s sleigh to explore the world’s best Christmas destinations.
Yuletide In Miami, Florida
With an average daytime temperature of 24.6 degrees centigrade in December, you certainly won’t need to pack those winter woollies for your trip to Florida.
This area is renowned for its fantastic beaches and exotic sea life, and even in December you’ll find local residents strolling on the beach, admiring tinsel-wrapped palm trees and Christmas-themed sand sculptures. In town, the streets glitter with seasonal lights and friends gather to eat together or drink festive cocktails.
Miami boasts a wide range of Christmas events and activities, from Santa’s Enchanted Forest – the world’s largest holiday theme park – to the Tri-Rail Winter Wonderland Celebration.
To get the ambience just right, Tri-Rail’s organisers import 20 tons of artificial snow and groups of carol singers to entertain the crowds.
Dreaming of a Miami Christmas? This beachfront estate is the ideal base for your celebrations. Experience Absolute Paradise! One of Florida's most special waterfront estates. Florida Keys Tropical Compound spans 14.5 Acres with over 1,000 ft. of Private Beaches & a 1/4 mile grand entrance surrounded by beautiful exotic trees.
Festive Fun in New York
While Florida partygoers are likely to be wearing swimsuits, late December temperatures can be as low as minus two degrees centigrade in New York. But if you’re a fan of classic films such as Miracle on 34th Street or When Harry Met Sally, you’ll know that the magic of a New York Christmas is all about getting cosy with friends in a buzzing downtown bar or restaurant.
New York is one of the best places to go for Christmas, with a programme of activities to help you celebrate right through until New Year. Sing carols around the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, get your skates on to visit the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park or enjoy the eye-popping lightscape at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. (And of course, NYC offers endless opportunities to shop, drink and dine in true festive style).

Beat the Winter Blues in The Bahamas
What better way to spend the festive season than celebrating in style in a tropical paradise? Beach parties are held here throughout the holiday season, especially on New Year’s Eve.
Bahamians do their Christmas shopping at the Port Lucaya Market in Grand Bahama (the islands’ biggest shopping complex), where local traders offer special deals throughout the month of December.
In Downtown Nassau, Christmas festivities kick off with a spectacular family tree-lighting event at Pompey Square, followed by a wealth of seasonal concerts and celebrations.
You can also visit the famous Straw Market, located amongst the high end boutiques on Bay Street. Best of all, the heart and soul of Bahamian culture can be experienced in the world-famous Junkanoo Parade, an incredible carnival celebration with colourful parades on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Tempted by a tropical Christmas? Explore this glorious island hideaway - Kiva Casa. There are many luxury homes in the Bahamas but none that are as well built, impeccably maintained and carefully thought out as Kiva Casa. The house has a perfectly flowing floor plan and sweeping ocean/golf course views of the fairways and lakes.
Enjoy a Maximalist Christmas in Dubai
Like everything in Dubai, the holiday celebrations seem a little larger than life … the Christmas trees are taller, the decorations more extravagant, and the events are more spectacular.
If you love festive markets, Dubai has at least ten that are just perfect for stocking up on festive treats and gifts. Visit the Winter Garden at Habtoor Palace, where twinkling fairy lights illuminate the glorious palace building and its grounds.
It’s a foodie paradise, with pop-up stalls serving delicious street food. As you wander around the stalls, you can join in with the carol singers or watch street artists perform. Another great winter-themed destination is Ski Dubai’s Winter Wonderland, where Santa and his elves wait to welcome the kids with Christmas goodie bags.
As you’d expect from a ski resort in Dubai, there’s plenty of artificial snow. So much, in fact, that young visitors are encouraged to make their own snowmen.

This beautiful 5 bedroom penthouse spreads over two floors, comes with an incredible 9,200 sq. ft. built up area with highest quality finishing and is fully upgraded with immaculate attention to detail.
